Frequently Asked Questions

Q. What is the legal minimum age for getting a tattoo?
A. 18 years and over is the legal age, As per Tattooing of minors act 1969

Q. Do tattoos hurt?
A. When done in a professional setting, getting a tattoo can be explained as only mildly irritating or annoying. Within the first few minutes, the body begins to release endorphins (natural pain killers). Some refer to the feeling as a cat scratch. The more relaxed you are, the easier it will be for you and your artist.

Q. How much does a tattoo cost?
A. Our prices are hourly. Total cost can vary according to size, complexity and the time it takes. Don't limit your experience or workmanship by putting a price limit on your tattoo. Like they say you get what you pay for. Good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good!

Q. If I put weight on, will it have any affect my tattoo?
A. Weight gain will not usually affect your tattoo. Your skin has a lot of elasticity  that naturally adjusts to changes in your body. Deep stretch marks can distort tattoos, but touch ups are usually possible. Building muscle won't affect the shape of a tattoo, but can make it look smaller on the enlarged surface area.

Q. Can you cover up old or unwanted tattoos?
A. Yes you can cover up old or unwanted tattoos, depending on the color and shape of the old tattoo, and what you would like to cover it up with. By using your imagination and talking to your artist about your inspiration most cover ups will not show any of the old tattoo. With proper color and shading your old tattoo will be virtually invisible

Q. Are there places on your body that can't be tattooed?

.

Q. How long will it take your tattoo to heal so you can return to regular activities like swimming ?
A. Normally between one and two weeks. Within the first couple of days a light, dry, flaky layer of skin will be visible on the tattooed area. Be sure to apply a small amount of non greasy lotion on the skin at this time. This will aide in keeping it from getting dry and itchy. Most of that will end in a week or so and you will begin to see a shiny layer of new skin. After this you can begin returning to your normal activities. If there are smaller spots that are not healed yet, wait until they  heal.

Q. Can you get AIDS from a tattoo?
A. In our clean and professional licensed tattoo studio, we maintain strict practices of sanitation and we are completely single use and disposable. So in our studio it would be pretty much impossible. Getting a tattoo by a non professional in a non sterile environment such as their own home, can be very dangerous. Bacteria infectious disease, hepatitis and syphilis are widespread in a dirty work area. The money you spend at a professional tattoo parlor is well worth the peace of mind.

Q. Can tattoos be removed?
A. Yes there are modern techniques that can remove most tattoos. But tattoo removal is much more expensive and can leave some scarring. It is better to be sure that you really want a tattoo before getting one.
